Environmental Protection and Nature Reserve Management is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the All-Russian Research Institute for Environmental Protection (FSBI “VNII Ecology”).
The journal covers aspects of preserving and restoring Russia's biodiversity, including measures for the protection, reproduction, and use of animal species and their habitats.

The journal pays special attention to the protection and restoration of Arctic ecosystems; issues related to the activities of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation in the field of development and functioning of the country's specially protected natural territories; research on the genetic structure and diversity of populations of rare species of birds and mammals; support for environmental protection projects; problems of air protection, industrial waste disposal and consumption, elimination of accumulated environmental damage and the introduction of the best available technologies; creation of industrial environmental control and monitoring systems that ensure sustainable development and transition to a "green economy", prevention of negative climate change.
