Abstract: The article is devoted to organizational and methodological approaches to the development and verification of methods for calculating emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere from stationary sources. The scope of the techniques and their role in the atmospheric quality management system are outlined. The main elements of the methodology for the development and verification of methods are presented. The current list of approved methods is analyzed. Promising directions for improving the computational and analytical functionality of the methods are outlined.

Abstract: Due to the ongoing technological processes of demolition of capital construction facilities, a large number of emissions of cement, concrete and other dust of various fractions are released into the atmosphere. In the current dense urban environment, this fact is a threat to the health of people living near the sites of reconstruction, major repairs or demolition of real estate. Therefore, timely monitoring of concentrations of pollutants in the atmosphere is extremely important. This paper considers the possibility of using low-budget autonomous laser sensors for measuring the concentration of fine dust particles near a construction site as one of the tools for timely detection of excess permissible concentrations of solid particles in the atmospheric air.

Abstract: The problem of harmful emissions from crankcase gases in piston engines has been around for over half a century. Currently, crankcase blow-by gas filtration systems with accumulation of hazardous substances in oil separators are applied. Based on the results of long-term bench and operational tests, it is necessary to determine a group of factors influencing increase in crankcase blow-by gas emissions and determination of engine oil change intervals in order to extend the maintenance intervals of the new KAMAZ-910 engines. In today's competitive economic environment, with ever-increasing cargo turnover and a wide range of vehicles made by various manufacturers, decrease in the total cost of vehicle ownership within the entire life cycle and, as a result, increase in the economic and environmental efficiency of commercial activity on the whole are currently relevant. The purpose of the studies is determination of the maintenance intervals dependence on the amount of crankcase blow-by gas emissions based on scientific substantiation and experimental research, and improvement of environmental parameters of KAMAZ-910 engines.

Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the current state and strategic prospects of environmental cooperation among BRICS member states, with a focus on the implementation of the "Clean Rivers" initiative. Based on the latest scientific data, expert assessments, and analysis of best international practices, scientifically-methodological recommendations for the effective implementation of this initiative have been developed. The recommendations cover key areas: improving water quality monitoring systems, implementing advanced innovative purification technologies, comprehensive restoration of degraded river ecosystems, developing scientific research dialogue, and strengthening educational activities. A detailed analysis of the specific environmental challenges and fundamental environmental protection priorities of each of the ten BRICS participating countries has been conducted. Specific project solutions, adapted to national conditions, are proposed. The strategic expediency of forming a unified supranational organizational structure and a multi-level monitoring and reporting system to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the initiative is substantiated.

Abstract: This report summarizes data on the Great Snipe Gallinago media sightings in the Republic of Karelia from 2021 to 2025. At a permanent lek in the Olonetsky District, where 8 to 15 birds were present annually, 24 males and 5 females were captured and tagged. In terms of size and weight, great snipes in Karelia differed from those of the Scandinavian group and were similar to those in Estonia, confirming the homogeneity of the great snipe population in the lowlands of Europe.

Abstract: Data on winter sightings of 22 species of waders in Dagestan Republic are presented, which significantly supplement the known the information about wintering of this group of birds in the south of the European part of Russia. The information obtained during the middle-winter counts in 2003–2025 is summarized, according to the results of which the list of reliably recorded waders wintering in Dagestan was supplemented with nine species. In the last 10 years, there has been an increase in the number of wintering wader’s species, and in some species, increase of their numbers as well.

Abstract: In 2016–2025, a study was conducted of a nesting Lapwing population on the outskirts of Moscow, on the site of the former Tushino Airfield, where a stadium, other sports facilities, and residential areas have been built in the last decade. The number of nesting lapwing pairs varied from 7 to 16 in different years. In 2025, the nesting density was 7.8 pairs/10 hectares, with a breeding success rate of 83.9%. The birds nested in small, short-grass meadow areas, in recently plowed areas designated for housing construction, and in parking lots not used daily. The studied lapwing population exhibits characteristics typical of urban bird populations: a wide range of nesting habitats, a higher urban population density compared to non-urban populations, an extended breeding season, and tolerance of human presence.

Abstract: An analysis of available literature on the wader fauna of Medny Island (Commander Islands) was conducted. Data on the current state of the wader fauna and the nature of their migration to Medny Island are presented. Abstract: Based on the author's research from 1963 to 2025, this article analyzes the distribution dynamics and range boundaries of waders in Eastern Siberia due to global warming, which has been particularly pronounced in Transbaikalia. Eastern Siberia is currently home to 61 wader species. The formation of vast areas affected by severe and prolonged droughts in the south of Eastern Siberia and adjacent regions of Mongolia and China has led to a significant northward shift in the optimal ranges of most waders, with the exception of plovers.

Abstract: This article presents data on the abundance, distribution, and timing of wader migration in small river valleys on the eastern macroslope of the Middle Urals, obtained during stationary observations from 2004 to 2023. Twenty-five wader species were recorded in small rivers and ponds, including six nesting species, 12 transit migrants, and the remainder nomadic or visiting. Agricultural ponds exhibit the highest species richness and abundance, while rivers and reservoirs are less abundant. Overall, wader species diversity in the valleys of small rivers in the Middle Urals is relatively low; flow regulation and the construction of small ponds contribute to the species enrichment of these birds. Bird concentrations on ponds are associated with the more diverse conditions of these habitats. Wader population dynamics in rivers and reservoirs are similar, peaking during spring migrations and gradually declining toward autumn. The seasonal dynamics on the ponds are different, with two population peaks observed during the spring and fall migration periods. During the dry seasons, when the water level drops and the area of muddy and sandy flats increases, the bird number increases.

Abstract: The analysis of the spring migration of Temminck’s Stint in the Pripyat floodplain is based on data obtained from the capture of 487 birds from 2002 to 2022. The average arrival date is April 27. The dynamics of the Temminck’s Stint spring migration is characterized by a single-wave model, with the peak of passage occurring in mid-May. The spring migration of the Temminck’s Stint in the south of Belarus is characterized by a rather short main migration period, which is only 6 days (from May 12 to May 17). Birds in their second year of life account for about 17% of the total number of captured birds. Second year birds migrate slightly later than adults. Four ring recoveries from ringed birds were received (2 from Sweden, Finland, and Estonia).

Abstract: The effectiveness of nest protection by mesh covers may decrease over time due to behavioral adaptation by predators. To assess the attractiveness of mesh covers to potential nest predators, an experiment was conducted involving 12 artificial (false) nests during the incubation period of shorebirds in Northwestern Chukotka. Clutches of quail eggs, mimicking shorebird nests, were used; there were no incubating birds at the nests. After 24 days of the experiment, none of the false nest were completely or partially destroyed. The mesh covers themselves are not attractive to predators; predators are attracted to the waders, who abandon the nests when approached.

Abstract: The waders were counted in some steppe and forest-steppe areas of Kurgan (2015), Tumen (2016), Novosibirsk (2017) and Omsk (2018) regions. In total, we identified 20 species including 19 species in late August and six species in middle October. In late August, Dunlin was the most numerous waders in Kurgan Region, Temminck’s Stint in Tumen Region, Black-tailed Godwit in Novosibirsk region and Northern Lapwing in Omsk region. In middle October we recorded the biggest number of waders, mostly Dunlins and Northern Lapwings, in Kurgan Region while in Novosibirsk Region the waders were not recorded.

Abstract: The aim of the project is to develop a set of environmentally sound measures aimed at implementing an action plan for the restoration and conservation of a sustainable population of the bezoar goat in the North Caucasus. The restoration of the species in the North Caucasus should be based on the preservation of existing natural local populations and groupings of the Bezoar goat and the release into nature of animals raised outside their natural habitat (ex situ). Abstract: This paper presents data on the distribution patterns of subarctic tundra waders across habitats in the lower reaches of the Indigirka River, where 24 species have been identified. It is noted that the typical distribution pattern of waders within the study area may undergo changes and deviations due to natural habitat transformations due to fires or fluctuating flooding levels associated with the weather and climate of the year. Averaged data on species density in habitats are provided for some species.

Abstract: Differences in the foraging behavior of juvenile and adult Great Knots Calidris tenuirostris (Horsfield, 1821) were studied in Western Kamchatka in 2023–2025. Studies were carried out at the mouths of the Khairyuzova and Belogolovaya rivers, the largest migratory staging site of this and other wader species on the Russian coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. The analysis of video records revealed that juveniles pecked food items from the surface more often than adults. The frequency and duration of probing the substrate were greater in adults than in juveniles. It is assumed that juvenile Great Knots are less efficient in feeding than adults.

Abstract: This review covers Russian and international research conducted over the past 15 years. It presents new information on the breeding distribution, flyways, morphological characteristics, and genetic traits of waders. This information allows making clarifications or fundamental changes to our knowledge of the geographic populations of 16 species inhabiting Northern Eurasia within the borders of the former USSR. At least nine more wader species in the region require similar clarification. Such information is essential not only for expanding fundamental knowledge but also for an effective approach to protecting the species and population diversity of waders in the region.

Abstract: The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework sets a target for governments to protect 30% of the world's most valuable terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine areas. Countries must integrate the goals of this program into national strategies and gradually implement them in action plans. To date, more than 23,000 specially protected natural areas have been established in Russia. The total area of all levels and categories of such territories is about 245 million hectares. The share of the area of their land part in the area of the Russian Federation (including inland water bodies) reaches 13%, and the share of marine areas in the area of territorial waters and exclusive economic zones is 2.4%. The article proposes a concept for national objectives for the development of Russia's system of protected natural areas.

Abstract: The article examines the problems and mechanisms for implementing international environmental standards and green technologies in the development of the port infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The relevance of the study is determined by the strategic importance of the NSR for Russia and the high vulnerability of Arctic ecosystems to anthropogenic impact. Based on the analysis of the current state of the port complex, investment projects, and foreign experience, systemic limitations and risks of sustainable development are identified. The authors propose a “traffic light” concept for selective adaptation of international practices, allowing differentiation of foreign experience into zones of unacceptability (“red”), adaptation (“yellow”), and unconditional application (“green”). A set of practical measures has been developed in six areas, including improving the legal framework, implementing pollution minimization technologies, developing waste reception infrastructure, creating a state environmental monitoring system, and economic incentives. The implementation of the proposed measures will ensure a balance between the economic development of the Arctic route and the preservation of the fragile natural environment.

Abstract: The article examines the features of the development of financial and environmental products in the banking sector in the context of the ESG transformation of the global financial system. It analyzes key sustainable financing instruments used by leading international and Russian banks. Based on a comparative analysis of Deutsche Bank, Raiffeisen Bank International, Sberbank PJSC, Alfa-Bank JSC, and Raiffeisenbank JSC, the article identifies differences in the scale of ESG implementation, the range of sustainable financial instruments, and the level of institutionalization of environmental financing. Special attention is paid to the analysis of banks’ ESG portfolios, mechanisms for structuring sustainable financial products, and the role of banking institutions in supporting environmentally oriented projects.
